All types of CBD oils: which one is best?

CBD oil can be classified using multiple criteria, which is why there are not only several types, but also several categories. However, no one CBD oil is better than any other, as this depends on the characteristics of each individual situation.

In this article, we’ll go over the different criteria for classifying CBD oil, as well as the types of oils that belong to each category, and we’ll also see for which situations each of them is best suited.

Tipos de aceites de CBDCriteria for classifying CBD oil

The two most common classification criteria for CBD oil are the percentage of CBD and the spectrum. This refers to the CBD concentration of the oil in question and whether or not it contains THC, respectively.

There are also other types of CBD oil such as Raw CBD oil or pure CBD oil. This is known for containing an unfiltered cannabis extract, so it retains a high degree of purity.

Lastly, it’s worth mentioning that there are other types of oil, such as CBG oil which, instead of having CBD as the main cannabinoid, has CBG as the main cannabinoid. This also has very interesting properties.

CBD oils by percentage

At The Tree CBD, we have CBD oils with different concentrations of this cannabinoid: 5, 10, 20, and 30%. We explain the characteristics of each one below.

5% CBD oil

5% CBD oils contain a proportion of CBD that is considered to be rather low. For this reason, it’s an ideal product for users who want to start experiencing the effects of CBD.

10% CBD oil

With a moderately low CBD concentration, these 10% oils are ideal for those who already have some previous experience with this cannabinoid, as they have a medium intensity effect.

20% CBD oil

20% CBD oils contain a percentage of this cannabinoid that is considered rather high and would be suitable for very experienced CBD users who are looking for a strong effect.

30% CBD oil

30% CBD oils have a very high percentage of this cannabinoid and are only suitable for very experienced users who require very high doses of CBD.

Lastly, it’s important to mention that by knowing the right CBD dosage, we can choose the best type of oil for each specific case.

CBD oil for pets

In addition to the oils explained so far, at The Tree CBD we have an oil especially designed for pets.

This is Petly CBD oil for pets, which has a CBD level of 3%. This concentration is similar to that of the other products mentioned, but somewhat lower, making it ideal for our pets.

CBD oils by spectrum

As mentioned above, CBD oils can also be classified according to whether they contain THC or not. This substance, produced naturally by the cannabis plant, is responsible for the psychotropic effects of marijuana, which produces it in very high quantities.

However, CBD oil is obtained from hemp, a cannabis plant from the same family as marijuana that lacks perception-altering properties. This is because it produces hardly any THC, with a maximum level of 0.2%. This amount of THC doesn’t alter your perception, and may favour synergies between cannabinoids, known as the entourage effect.

Full spectrum oil

Full spectrum CBD oils are those that contain all the cannabinoids of the plant, including THC, with a legally permitted maximum of 0.2%.

Full spectrum CBD oils can be found with the CBD concentrations explained above: 5, 10, 20, and 30%.

Broad spectrum oil

However, there are some CBD users who prefer to opt for completely THC-free oil. In other words, broad spectrum CBD oil. It contains all the substances produced by the plant, such as cannabinoids and terpenes, except for THC.

This oil is also available with the concentration levels described above: 5, 10, 20, and 30%.

Raw CBD Oil

Apart from all these types of CBD oil, there’s also Raw CBD oil. This is a type of oil that retains all its purity due to not having undergone a filtering process.

It’s a full spectrum oil that fully retains all components of the plant, including THC, with a legal limit of 0.2%. This is why it is called raw, as it contains raw, i.e. unprocessed CBD extract. The plant-based oil used as a base is coconut MCT oil, making it a 100% natural product.
